Home again, home again

Tucker is back home!!  I'm so incredibly happy to have him here with us again.  I have missed the little guy so much.  He may be a big responsibility, but that's nothing compared to the happiness that he brings me.  I seriously can't imagine my life without him.  I love caring for him and being his "mom"  J

Tucker's vacation

Wow, I cannot believe it's been over a month since my last post!  But I suddenly am finding myself with a little more time on my hands now that Tucker is away for "Spring Break"!  He is staying with his "grandparents" (Boyfriend's parents) for 10 days in eastern Washington.  It's good I had my week away in January to help me get used to the feeling of not having my pup around.  This time is quite different though since Boyfriend and I are together and home alone!

Moment of blunt honesty: I don't think we realized just how much stress and pressure caring for a dog put on us until he was away.  It's been forever since we've both felt so relaxed.  Having a dog is a huge responsibility (duh.), but it feels like we didn't exactly realize the extent until now.  Okay, now on a more happy, "yay for dogs!" note: I do miss him tremedously!  I miss having someone happily greet me when I get home from work.  I miss him falling asleep on my lap.  I miss the joy and laughter he brings to our lives everyday. 

All that being said, I'm glad he's had this vacation away with family and Radar the Westie (his new BFF), but I am looking forward to having him come home again!

Missing Tucker

This past week I spent the longest time away from Tucker since he first came home with me.  I attended a work conference in Tampa, Florida and was gone Monday-Saturday.  After a couple days away I realized how much I missed my little guy!  I admit I had been kind of looking forward to a little break from potty trips and a barking dog.  However it didn't really occur to me that I would miss him so much.  On Saturday I couldn't wait to get home to see my two favorite guys.  Boyfriend brought Tucker with him to the airport to pick me up and when I saw his little head hanging out of the passenger side window I was so happy!  Being away just made me appreciate and love Tucker even more.

On a side note, this past week Boyfriend discovered how difficult and demanding it can be to take care of a dog on your own.  Now he can appreciate what it was like for me before we moved in together!  J

Snow day!

Today was our "big winter storm", and even though we didn't get the originally predicted 8-12" in our area, we did get a good 5-6".  Tucker had so much fun romping around in the snow.  He definitely enjoys snow more than rain!  Tuck would burrow his little nose in the snow and push it around, which gave him a lovely snow mustache J  He's definitely a snow pup!
